Netflix, which owns movie streaming service Box and Vudu, released its first-ever ranking of “Most Enjoyable Movies” last year.
While Netflix is the biggest player in the movie-streaming business, its movie-watching audience is still fairly small, and many moviegoers still prefer to watch movies on DVD.
To fill that void, Netflix partnered with Vudubus, an online video service that was founded by a group of movie fans in 2013.
The company has since expanded its movie library, offering a wide variety of films for viewers to choose from.

But this year, Netflix’s top pick for the title “The Best Movie” was “The Last King of Scotland,” a 1993 comedy about a man who loses his wife to a fatal disease.
Netflix said the movie was “among the best movies I’ve ever seen,” and its ranking is the first time a movie has topped the list.
It came in ahead of “The Big Short,” a 2013 drama about an undervalued hedge fund that is ultimately bailed out.
“The best movie of the year” may not be a big deal, but it’s a big step up from “The Avengers,” the biggest-grossing film of all time.
The movie was released on June 10, 2016, and Netflix said it had more than 30 million subscribers.
(More: The Most-Unpopular Movies of All Time) “The most enjoyable movie” is a term Netflix uses to describe movies that are the best.
It’s a formula that Netflix has used for years, and it’s also an accurate one.
The biggest, most-popular movies in 2016 were “Captain America: Civil War,” “Zootopia,” “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” “Divergent,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”
“The last king of Scotland” was the second-most-liked movie of 2016, behind “The Great Wall.”
The title is also the title of a popular song, “The Loneliest Man in Scotland,” by singer Billy Idol.
The song has been covered by Beyonce and Kanye West.
Netflix, Vuduu, and Box, which also own the subscription streaming service Hulu, have a long history of sharing rankings.
Netflix ranked the most-watched TV series in 2016 with “Orange is the New Black,” followed by “Orange Is the New Grown,” “Sense8,” and the “Hobbit” franchise.
Vuduv ranked the top-rated movies in 2017, followed by the “Star Trek” series “TNG,” and later “Star-Lord,” “Thor,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and many other movies.
Netflix also ranked the best TV shows of the decade with “Transparent,” “House of Cards,” “Orange, Texas,” and more.
The top-ranking movie of 2017 was “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” and it came in at No. 5.
Box ranked the two biggest hits of 2017 with “Guardian of the Realm,” and Vudsu said it “ranked the two best films of the summer.”
“Worst movie of year” is also a term used to describe films that are mediocre.
It has become an increasingly popular term in recent years, though it’s still a relatively new one.
It first made its way onto the list in 2005 when Vuduzu ranked the “Loving,” “Memento,” and other “dumb” movies.

Netflix, Box, Vudsubus and Hulu all use the term “worst movie of a decade” to rank their movies, and they often use the same formula.
Box says its movies rank the most at the end of the list, and that the “Wworst movie in a decade ranking” is based on the “best of the best” movies being ranked.
Netflix’s “Best Movie” title comes in ahead a bit, but Box’s “Wbest movie of every decade” was still a top-five ranking last year, and the movie is currently the most popular movie on Netflix.
Box said its movies are also considered “top 10” in terms of how many people watched them in 2016, when “The Lego Batman Movie” ranked No. 2 on the list behind “Citizenfour,” which won best picture.
Netflix has a reputation for making movies with huge budgets, and last year’s “Logan,” “Captain Phillips,” and others were all rated “M” or better.
“Worse than nothing” was also a top 10 film on Netflix this year.
“Lincoln” and “Lone Survivor” were both rated “A” on the year’s list, with
